Short Bio
Prof. Creston “Mickey” King has been at Loyola since 1966. His research – carried out for much of that time on the first floor of Monroe Hall – has been in the area of low-temperature physics and superconductivity. Some of Dr. King’s many outside interests include being a pilot and flight instructor, and restoring his vintage 1930 Model A Ford.
Current research involves using a SQUID to determine the magnetic properties of materials at moderately low temperatures. This work will involve students from the first year on and is primarily intended to motivate them and show them the fun of "doing physics!"
