Dr. Anderson is a specialist in Victorian social history, and has published many articles on Victorian women and the family, as well as a book Woman Against Women in Victorian England: A Life of Eliza Lynn Linton (Indiana University Press, 1987). She is currently working on a book, The Dilemmas of Cross-cultural Feminisms: Annie Besant and Women's Rights in England and India. She received a B.A. from Stanford University (1965), a M.A. from the University of California Irvine (1967), and a Ph.D. from Tulane University (1973).
