Fall Canoe Paddle -- November 7th, 2008 Meeting logistics: The trip has a mid-Friday afternoon departure time posted on the home page of this Environmental Studies web site. We leave from the roadway between Monroe Hall and the Music/Communication Building. Travel time is approximately one hour to launch site. Four to five hours is spent in a canoe. No experience is necessary. Life jackets will be worn at all times. Please bring some sort of snack and water because no stops are made to and from the launch site. Dress comfortably and do bring some sort of flashlight (and cameras if you wish). Also, bug spray if you are bugged by bugs. Remember that you likely will get wet shoes and anything in the bottom of the canoe will get wet if you do not bring waterproof material - even a plastic trash bag will do. Finally, pay close attention to the weather the day of the trip and dress accordingly in layers - remember it is often 10 - 15 degrees cooler over water. We go rain or shine as long as the university is in session - no rain date! To reserve
your spot contact Dr. David White
by email - dawhite@loyno.edu
or by phone - 865-2770. No charge. We will return to campus by 9:30 p.m. Transportation provided. Space is limited. Departure is prompt, sorry.
