Gautier/St. Martin Eminent Scholar Chair of Environmental Law, School of Law.  I teach Environmental Law, International Environmental Law, Land Use, and Environmental Justice at the Law School. I hold an A.B. degree from Stanford University and a J.D. degree from Harvard Law School. Before joining Loyola, I taught for eleven years on the law faculty of the University of Missouri at Kansas City. I've also taught as a visitor at Beijing University School of Law (China), Aarhus University Faculty of Law (Denmark), and Seattle University School of Law. I am a Research Scholar with the Center for Progressive Regulation in Washington, D.C. I've testified on Capitol Hill and served as a peer reviewer for the White House on issues of environmental regulation. I am also Contributing Editor for the American Bar Association's Urban Lawyer law review. In 2002, I represented the University of Missouri's Center for the City at the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg, South Africa. My scholarship focuses on environmental regulation and environmental justice, an area of study concerned with environmental protection and civil rights. My work has appeared in the California Law Review , the Southern California Law Review , the Harvard Environmental Law Review , and the Stanford Environmental Law Journal , among other places.
