Professor of Biological Sciences, College of Arts & Sciences. Ph.D. in Biology. Tulane University. 1979. Courses taught in the Environmental Studies Minor Program -- Human Ecology (BIOL Z130) and Ecology & Evolution (BIOL A208). I also teach courses for majors in Biological Sciences in Biology of Organisms, Ecology (senior), Conservation Biology, and an honors course entitled Human Ecological Science. My research interest is in plant wetland ecology of southeastern Louisiana. Currently, I have a long term study at the mouth of the Mississippi River that is focused on wetland creation and plant community dynamics. Specifically, I am monitoring vegetation, wetland loss and buildup on a National Wildlife Refuge so that managers are better informed.
