The Reader's Response
The Reader's Response: Essays and Studies by Students of Literature showcases the single best paper from each of the English Department's literature and theory courses, as selected and submitted by the course professors. This annual is sponsored by Sigma Tau Delta, English honorary association, generously funded by the Student Government Association, and published by the English department. A student board of two to four members edits the journal, with the guidance of a faculty moderator. Submissions are made in the form of a hard copy of the paper and a copy on computer disk, accompanied by the student author's biographical sketch and by an introductory note from the instructor explaining the nature of the course and outlining the writing assignment that the paper fulfilled so well. Publication is not limited to English majors or minors. Past editorial boards have maintained a policy of publishing only one paper per student author per volume. However, several students have published two or three times in this journal during their undergraduate years at Loyola.
