Literature majors take twelve courses that examine the vast expanse of literature written in English from medieval dramas to Romantic poetry to Indian short stories to contemporary graphic novels. Literature majors are encouraged to take courses offered in the writing and the film and digital media tracks as well. The degree is designed to prepare students for graduate study and a teaching career in literature as well as for various professional fields.
