
John T. Sebastian earned his Ph.D. in Medieval Studies with concentrations in Old and Middle English literature and medieval music in 2004. His primary research interest is in 14th- and 15-century English religious writing, especially drama, the devotional lyric, and mystical prose. He has published essays on Chaucer, Lydgate, medieval drama, and, most recently, a chapter with his colleague Dr. Timothy Welsh on the video game Dante's Inferno. He is also, with Christina Fitzgerald, the General Editor of The Broadview Anthology of Medieval Drama. In his courses, he teaches the literatures and cultures of the medieval world from Iceland to Japan. He is currently the Director of the Common Curriculum and a former director of the Medieval Studies Program.
