- Jeff Guhin (03) received a full-tuition Scholarship and a $20,000.00-a-year stipend to pursue his Ph.D. studies in Sociology at Yale University.
- Robert Cowser (92) has published his second book, a memoir, Scorekeeping. He teaches creative writing at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York.
- Kathryn Powell (92) has edited, with Donald Scragg, Apocryphal Texts and Traditions in Anglo-Saxon England. She teaches at DePaul University in Chicago.
- Joanna Krawczwk, '06 won a $25,000.00 per year scholarship to Tulane Law School.
- Zachery McGar, '06 won a fellowship that covers tuition and fees and recieved a stipend from the University of Georgia for an M.A. in Classical Studies.
- Veronica Kavass, '05 was accepted at Sarah Lawrence for an MFA
- Ivan Miller, '05 will atten the University of Oregon for a masters in Journalism
- Julia Sorrentino, '04 will attend The New School for her MFA.
- Michael Lee, Assistant Fiction Editor, NOR, hsd been accepted at U. Mass Amherst and U of Alabama in the MFA progra.
- Anna Kopieczek Lara, '02 dances with the New Orleans Ballot and is enrolled in a M.D and M.A. in public health program at Tulane Medical School
- Faye Felterman, ’00, Ph.D. candidate, Tulane University; composition teacher, Loyola University New Orleans
- Skelly McCay, ’01, British Marshall Scholar in philosophy, University of Edinburgh M.Litt. philosophy teacher, Loyola University, New Orleans. He was recently accepted at the George Washington Institute of Public Health Policy.
- Michael Miley, '01, Finished at the American Film Institute in the Directing Program, and was chosen by Esquire to film a short story published in that magazine.
- Diego Lara, '00 is engaged in a joint degree progam at Tulane Medical school working towards an M.D. and an M.A. in public health.
- Jessie Morgan Owens, ’99, Ph.D. is a fellow in American studies, NYU
- Kevin Rabalais, ’98, co-author of Novel Voices: 17 Award-Winning Novelists on How to Write, Edit and Get Published; teacher, UNO and Our Lady of Holy Cross College
- Donovan Braud,'97, finished his M.A. at the Loyola University Chicago, and has a teaching fellowship to study for his Ph.D. there.
- Tracy Watts, ’96, Ph.D. candidate, University of Texas at Austin.
- Martin Pousson, ’94, M.F.A., Columbia University; author of No Place Louisiana and Sugar. He now teaches creative writing at Loyola.
- Robert Cowser, '92 received an M.A. from Marquette and a Ph.D. from Nebraska. He is now a tenured Associate Professor of Creative Writing at St. Lawrence University. He has published Dream Season and has a book of memoristic essays, Score Keeping, coming out in 2006.
- Jeanne Pavy, ’87, Ph.D., Emory University, specialist in political science and urban affairs, University of New Orleans
- Daneeta Loretta Saft, '88, MA Literature from George
Mason University, MFA Filmmaking from the London Film School. Daneeta
spent 7 years in Japan where she worked as a writer and 7 in London
where she now works as an independent filmmaker. Her first feature,
Tokyo Cowboys ( www.tokyocowboys.com) completed in 2007. A feature length
documentary shot over a two-year period: Tokyo Cowboys presents a fascinating
insight into the lives of ambitions Westerners trying to make it big
in Japan.
