As part of Loyola’s Pathways Strategic Plan and related program restructuring new students are not being accepted into the Computer Science (CS) and Computer Information Systems (CIS) programs. In addition, only students with Junior or Senior status as of Fall 2006, and with departmental approval, may complete majors in either of these two programs. Continuing students with a declared major in CS or CIS should contact the Chair of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.
Existing majors previously registered in the two bachelor’s degree programs - Computer Science, and Computer Information Systems - are being offered courses to complete their major studies for degree requirements. The department implores the latest hardware and software technology that can be accessed by every student. That, coupled with undergraduate research opportunities, gives students the foundation needed to plan, create, or improve upon the technology that we will use in the 21st century.
