Environmental Studies

Environmental Studies at Loyola University New Orleans offers students the opportunity to engage in a broad and integrated study of the environment from a wide-range of academic viewpoints.

As an interdisciplinary minor, the curriculum represents courses from various colleges and departments that focus on understanding the relationships between humans and the natural world from biophysical, sociological, economic, philosophical, and religious perspectives. The program attempts to develop in students, the kinds of knowledge, wisdom, and problem-solving skills that can enable them to play an active role in protecting the future survival of our ecosystem. Find out more about the Environmental Studies minor by contacting the program's director Dr. Paul W. Barnes at (504) 865-2008 or email pwbarnes@loyno.edu.
